This newsletter recaps most of the artwork, comics, projects, etc. that I've worked on in the past week and combines it all into a nice concise format so you never have to worry about having missed anything. But NEXT week I will definitely be out of the office-so to speak-because the family and I will be heading to Big Bend National Park! Long overdue for a family vacation, we're making the 8 hour drive (not really all that bad honestly) to south Texas and setting up camp in the charming desert town of Terlingua just outside of Big Bend.
Rhea and I have visited Big Bend once before and are very excited to return and bring the kiddos along with us. Which means: don't expect a newsletter next weekend! I'll be taking the entire week off to become one with nature and to escape the rat race for a little while.
I may have a couple of scheduled posts queued up for Patreon members but otherwise I'll be hiking a rocky trail or dipping into a hot spring next to the Rio Grand.
Let's not get too ahead of ourselves though-today's newsletter is packed! Time for some...
The After Death

Autobio Comix #31
It's been a minute since I drew some autobio comics, and it was nice to return to. Autobio comics are a way for me to connect more with the wider internet as far as sharing slightly more personal stories, without having to be in front of the camera. I enjoy the looser, less polished approach and hope to do more soon!

Just in case you're wondering, I'd choose the wind over the rain and humidity any day!
April's Sticker Design
Crawfish, crayfish, crawdads, mudbugs, whatever you call them, 'tis the season down in Louisiana-crawfish season! The season is technically from January to July, but spring is peak crawfish season and man I could use a good crawfish boil right about now.
I create a new sticker every month and mail them out exclusively to Patreon backers at all levels. Join us on Patreonbefore the end of the month and I'll slap one on the snail-mail train and point it in your direction.
What's Making Me Happy This Week?
A couple things have arrived in the mail this week that's making me super happy. First up is a collected edition of all of the comic book cover artwork Terry Moore's ever done (of his personal creator owned work). Becoming a fan of Terry Moore later on, I've read most of his past work in trades or omnibuses. Huge books that collect one complete story all in one place. But, a lot of times those collections forego the individual comic book cover art. So yeah, you've got the story, but you're often missing the covers! So, Moore has published a huge volume collecting only his cover art for every book he's self published. That's Strangers in Paradise, Rachel Rising, Motor Girl, Parker Girls and more. It's a beautiful book and was definitely a highlight of the week. Not only that, but he wrote and drew a one-shot exclusive comic for Kickstarter backers only. I'm pretty sure all of these will be available for retail as well so if you're interested, be sure to tell your local comic book shop.
Number two on the list is the graphic novel Life After Life, Joshua Barkman's (a.k.a. False Knees comics) latest book. I reviewed the book over on Substack if you want to know how my thoughts on it. Spoiler alert, I love his books and his comics and Life After Life did not disappoint, but if you want to hear me go deeper on the topic, check out my review here.

Okay I'm off to see the Chisos Mountains and to walk around the Chihuahuan Desert; to camp out in the old mining town of Terlingua and to see the stars underneath a sky with the least amount of light pollution in the lower 48 states. As always, thanks for reading. I'll see you back here in two weeks!
